Te Puawai( the blooming or blossoming flower)
is not a traditional Kapa Haka group ( roopu ).

Te Puawai is a - roopu whakangahou - group who comes together for the joy of singing

Te Puawai is an Inclusive - not exclusive, performance group.

Te Puawai has an open tikanga - contemporary approach to including any and all students with an interest in waiata - tikanga - te reo.

Nga Tewhatewha

Nga Tewhatewha ( )
Is more of our “kapa haka” group - it’s traditional it’s more classical (but obviously not totally classic)
A more stringent focus on
Oriori (chants)
Haka
Poi
Waita ari (action songs)

We have our own Riverdale kawa (rules/protocol)
